Carpet Cleaning

The three basic options for carpet cleaning.

Empty: Nearly every real estate transaction these days requires carpet cleaning to be performed after the old owner or tenant moves out, and before the new owner or tenant moves in. We’re here to help you with that. Cleaning a residence when it is empty of all personal property is the most thorough and efficient method for cleaning the carpets. We offer great discounted rates for cleaning when the property is empty.

Open Areas / Traffic Paths: Perhaps the most common of all cleaning options. When performing an Open Areas cleaning, we focus on all of the key foot traffic areas of you carpets, going around the majority of furniture. We understand that some things such as chairs or end tables tend to be moved around frequently, so we move those aside when cleaning and then replace them when done with those areas. This method of cleaning takes care of those heavily traveled areas such as hallways, around beds and in front of sofas.

Wall-to-Wall: When you are looking for the most complete and thorough cleaning, but you aren’t moving out. During the cleaning process, we move furniture from its place, clean the area, and then replace the furniture. Of course there are some pieces that cannot be moved such as pianos, entertainment centers and china hutches. Those pieces we will simply clean around. After each piece is put back in place, we place either foil tabs or Styrofoam blocks under the legs or feet to protect the carpet from staining and the furniture from moisture wicking.

Carpet Protection: No matter what option you’ve chosen to go with, we always recommend having the carpets treated with fabric protector after the cleaning. Carpet fiber protection helps extend the life of your carpet by putting an invisible shield around the fibers. This shield repels dirt and spills away from the fiber instead of allowing them to penetrate in and cause irreversible damage.

Upholstery Cleaning

When it’s cleaning time, upholstery is very frequently overlooked and we don’t give it the attention that it deserves. Why not get your favorite sofa or recliner cleaned the next time we are there cleaning your carpets.

We use the same powerful truck mounted equipment for cleaning your upholstery that we use for your carpets, and tile & grout cleaning. We start by vacuuming any loose soil or debris from the fabric. Then we apply a cleaning detergent specifically designed for upholstery fabric and agitate it in to begin breaking up the soils. We then rinse the detergent out with hot water and vacuum.

The equipment used to clean your upholstery recovers almost all of the water it uses during the cleaning process. This prevents over-wetting and assures fast drying times allowing you to use your furniture again quickly.

Tile & Grout Cleaning

When a mop and bucket don’t seem to be doing the trick. We use the same powerful truck-truck-mounted machines that we use for your carpet & upholstery cleaning to get your tile and grout lines sparkling again.

Having tile floors in key areas such as entry’s, kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms has many benefits. These areas in your home are exposed to the most traffic and soiling. Tile floors are obviously more durable against routine wear & tear, but still require a certain amount of care to maintain their appearance. Regular sweeping and mopping helps, but after time, a more thorough and deep cleaning is necessary. (Just like your carpet and upholstery)

We start by applying a degreaser designed for your tile and grout floor. We then agitate each tile and grout line by hand with brushes. Sometimes additional cleaning agents are required to remove more deeply set soils. After the appropriate time has elapsed, we rinse the floor with steam and vacuum. We follow up with a dry mop to remove any remaining surface moisture. The floors dry quickly enough that they are ready for use before we even leave your home.

We do recommend sealing the grout after a deep and thorough cleaning. Industry experts recommend waiting 48 – 72 hours after cleaning to seal grout lines. This prevents moisture from being sealed inside the grout lines which could cause premature deterioration.

Area Rugs

From synthetic fiber rugs found at most local retailers, to the finest of rugs made of wool and other natural fibers. Your rugs will receive the best care possible while in our hands.

Compared to in home carpeting, there are some differences in the methods used to clean area rugs to ensure that it receives the best cleaning possible without damaging the fibers or backing. These steps include, but are not limited to pre-vacuuming and compressed air dust removal. This is why it we clean all area rugs in our shop.

Air Duct Cleaning

Got pets? Got allergies? Air Duct Cleaning is something you need to consider. Having your ducts cleaned will greatly improve the quality of air inside your home. Dust, pollen and pet dander are just a few of the many contaminants that can be hiding in your duct system.

We use a compressed air system along with Truck-Mounted vacuum power to remove those contaminants. We clean each vent run and cold air return individually. We start by removing all vent registers and cold air return grates. We vacuum all entry points where a lot of the larger debris is found. We then follow that with the compressed air and vacuum system to remove the contaminants throughout the rest of the run. We wipe down each cover, reinstall it and move to the next one.

Carpet Repairs

Sometimes replacing the carpet just isn’t feasible, but you’ve got some problems that need to be addressed. Repairing carpets is a much more cost effective solution.

Ripples / Waves: This problem is becoming more and more common. There are many theories on what causes carpets to loosen and get ripples or waves in them. Regardless of what caused the ripples to appear, they need to be stretched out. Ripples can cause the carpets to crease and wear unevenly. Not to mention, they create a tripping hazard in your home.

To properly stretch the carpet, the room needs to empty of all furniture. There are some cases where we can work around something that is too heavy to move, but results may not be ideal. Call us and we’ll schedule a time to come and look at your situation and give you a written estimate. At that time we can discuss your options for stretching the carpets as best as possible.

Holes, Stains and Other Damage: Holes from things such as burns, pet damage or deterioration as well as stains determined to be permanent can be patched. Of course we will need a section of carpet to use for the patch. Most of the time, when the carpet is installed, there are scrap pieces that the installers leave behind for just such an instance. Check your basement under the stairs, in a crawl space or in the attic. We can cut out the damaged section and seam in a new section in its place. Invisible seams from the repair might be unachievable, but the visual improvement over having damaged carpet would be significant.

Hardwood Floor Cleaning & Refinishing

Now there is a way to clean and refinish wood floors without all of the sanding and mess that goes along with it. Dustless wood floor cleaning works great at taking out minor scratches and scuffs. It also removes dirt and grime that mopping just doesn’t seem to be helping with. This process has your wood floors ready for use in 1 day, not several days.

It starts with a dry broom and vacuum to remove all loose soil and debris. Then the cleaning agent is applied to the floor. Large areas are scrubbed and agitated with a floor machine. Smaller areas and corners are done by hand. This is the process that is going to loosen ground in dirt and grease for removal. Then the floor is mopped to remove the cleaning solution and soil. Then we perform a second mopping to assure that all cleaning residue had been removed. At this time we use air movers to dry the floors and get them ready for the new finish to be applied. Once the floors are dry, we begin applying the wood floor finish. Our standard procedure applies 2 coats of finish. A third coat would be available, for an additional charge. We then use air movers to dry the floors before we leave.

We always recommend waiting until the next day to replace furniture, but you are able to walk on them within a couple of hours.
